Ilankai Thamil Manram Florida is a not-for-profit corporation founded for the purpose of promoting the understanding and appreciation of Sri Lankan Thamil arts, language, and culture throughout the Florida community by means of social and educational gatherings.

Main Events

Pongal

A celebration of the harvest, Pongal is marked by the boiling over of the traditional Pongal dish: new harvest rice boiled in milk and jaggery.

Thamil New Year

Also known as “Puthuvarudam,” the Thamil New Year is the first day of the Thamil calendar as set in accordance with the solar cycle.

Kalai Vizha

Literally a “festival of fine arts,” the Kalai Vizha is an opportunity for members of the community to exhibit their own achievements in Thamil arts and culture and expand their understanding thereof through performances by special guests.

Christmas

Caroling, performances, and a holiday feast round out the year in a festive celebration of friends and family.
